‘In the rhythm of colour’ is all about abstract acrylic painting. Gisela Hoßfeld-Weber experiments with powerful colour combinations and geometric shapes, which she brings together to create harmonious compositions. Colour plays the main role and becomes the defining element of the works. Inspired by music, a unique rhythm develops during the painting process, which is reflected in the pictures.

The exhibition also shows some realistic works, in which colour is also in the foreground and emphasises the diversity of the artist's work. This selection makes it clear that Hoßfeld-Weber cannot be categorised in a particular stylistic ‘drawer’.

The vision

For Gisela Hoßfeld-Weber, music and visual art are as essential as the ‘air we breathe’. Her creative process often begins with a vision, an image in her head, which often changes in front of the canvas and develops in an unexpected direction. For her, the painting process is like a dance with brush and colour, a play of forward and backward movements that gives the picture its own rhythm.

Gisela Hoßfeld-Weber comes from a traditional family of artists and was introduced to the world of art from an early age. After studying painting and graphic design, she worked for many years as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. For the past 20 years or so, she has devoted herself exclusively to freelance painting and graphic design.
